HHRMA - Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa

We are seeking a highly motivated hospitality professional Director of Conferences & Incentives; with a strong conference & incentive sales background to oversee and drive revenue and sales in our Conference & Incentives market. The successful candidate must have established effective working relationships with key industry clients in this market sector within the Pacific, Asia and the US, and be pro-active in securing business and maximising revenue in this key market segment for our hotel.

Key Responsibilities include:

• To actively pursue all opportunities, inquiries and sales leads to ensure maximum conversion of potential leads into confirmed Conference & Incentives business for the resort.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with key PCOs and Conference & Incentives companies operating within the Pacific, Asia and US regions.
• Source opportunities for and organise appropriate famils to create awareness of resort and conference & incentive facilities.
• Maintain a regular schedule of sales calls to existing and potential clientele, ensuring appropriate tracking of sales call activity and potential leads.
• Represent the Resort at industry and trade events, maximising sales opportunities at these events.
• Build effective working relationships with the Accor Regional Sales team including Corporate Sales, to identify and target Conference & Incentive opportunities for the resort.
• Lead and manage the Conference Sales team remotely, being the Conference Sales Manager and 3 Event Coordinators based at the resort in Fiji.
• Establish effective follow-up procedures for quotes, to ensure high conversion of sales leads into confirmed events business for the resort. Handle all quotes up to confirmation of business with contract for all major Conference & Incentive business for the resort. Maintain effective communication with resort based events coordinators, to ensure correct follow-through and coordination of Conference & Event business.
• Complete and adhere to Accor Sales reporting requirements in a timely manner.

Requirements
• Must have at least 3 years experience at Director of Conferences or Sales level in a similar size hotel, preferably at luxury level, with proven ability to convert leads to sales and market a luxury product within Brand guidelines.
• Must have proven ability to lead and mentor a team, preferably with experience working with a remote team.
• Must be a strategic thinker who can contribute as part of the hotel’s executive team.
• Must have proven current working relationships with key industry clients and PCOs.
• Previous resort experience is advantageous, and the ability to travel both domestically and internationally is a pre-requisite.
